SOCIAL INFLUENCE AND CONFORMITY:
The main theoretical models and empirical findings about social influence and conformity are presented: social comparison (Festinger), normative and informational influence (Deutsch and Gerard), group polarisation, minority influence (Moscovici), social identity and self-categorization (Tajfel and Turner).
THE EXPLANATION OF SOCIAL MOTIVATION:
The importance of social motivation as the basis of social influence is exposed. The explanation of social motivation on the basis of organicistic biological theories (von Bertalanffy, Maturana and Varela), the analysis of the structure of human knowledge (Piaget, Varela) and the working of the self process (Mead, Černigoj and Bečaj).
