Translation Seminar II (SLO-ENG): Translation of Promotional Texts

Various issues that often arise in the translation of promotional texts (e.g., tourism material, promotional material, promotional websites, etc.) are dealt with: translation of frequent word combinations, comparison of syntactic differences, comparative treatment of cohesive means in texts, translation of ambiguous word combinations or phrases, metaphorical meanings and idiomatic expressions, comparison of register differences and degrees of formality and the treatment of cultural differences between Slovenia and English-speaking countries.
