The student is acquainted with the selected chapters from Greek and Roman philosophy.
Reading and Analysis:
Reading of selected philosophical texts and classical sources in their language of origin and/or translation; interpretation of the textual and idelological meaning of the text; reconstruction of the fragmentary and less known excerpts from classical philosophical texts, with particular emphasis on the Presocratic, Socratic and Plato's unwritten doctrines. Historical survey of the transmission of the selected texts and their reception in later eras (Scholastics, Medieval Platonism and Florentine Neoplatonism)
