Anthropology of the antique every-day life: person, family (status of an individual, family ties, familia, clientelism; birth, childhood, upbringing, transition into maturity, marriage, gender roles, clothing, jewellery and superstitions, home, food, household economy, domestic religion, death. Archaeology of production activities: agriculture / animal husbandry, organic raw material processing (wood, bone, skin, wool, and plant fibre), mining, metallurgy, blacksmithing, foundry, glassmaking, pottery / brick-making, stonecutting / stonemasonry. Typological tools for the study of Roman archaeology – small finds. An overview of material culture: pottery, metal, glass, stone, organic materials. Functional typologies: recipients (transport / storing / keeping of food, preparing food, baking bread, serving and consuming food – dishes / drinks, lighting devices, ritual – burnt offerings / libations / votive vessels / votive vessels / urns / lacrimaria, storing of cosmetic and healing preparations, storing precious objects, play, decor, craft production – tools / vessels); ovese; clamps; blades etc. Typologies directed towards discovering chronologies and the origin of workshops (amphorae, terra sigillata, thin-walled pottery etc., glass, metal vessels, fibulae, jewellery etc.). Instrumentum domesticum and epigraphic sources. Numismatic sources.
